LANACare Soft Pure Woolen Breastfeeding Pads - The Breast Pads Women LOVE!

Every nursing mother wants breastfeeding to be a positive experience for her and her baby. These incredibly soft and soothingly comfortable nursing pads provide the best conditions for successful breastfeeding.

Most women need only 2 pairs for the entire nursing period. When one pair feels wet, let it dry while wearing the second pair. Lanolin's cleansing properties keep the wool fresh and hygienic.
The wool can absorb up to 40% of its weight without feeling wet. When the pads do feel wet, they're warm, not cold and clammy as with cotton or disposable pads.
Your skin is kept dry and able to breathe, allowing sore nipples to heal.
Scandinavian midwives have, for centuries, advised mothers to protect their breasts from wind and cold to prevent plugged ducts and mastitis. Larger sizes give protective coverage over greater a portion of the breast.
When needed, wash by hand in lukewarm water with mild hair shampoo, alternating with LANACare 20% Lanolin-Soap. LANA's lanolin-replenishing soap has a much higher lanolin content than most other wool-washes and will keep your pads feeling soft and soothing. Which Style and Size Is For Me?

Style

Original - with double layer wool. Sufficient for most women's needs. Dry more quickly than Ekstra.
Ekstra - with felted wool for greater barrier effect and absorption. For women with extra strong "let-down" reflexes or heavy leakage. Larger sizes have felted wool only in area where most needed, to avoid extra bulk in your bra.
XS: Two layers of felted wool; Small & larger: One layer of felted wool sewn between two layers of original wool.
Softline - the same soft, untreated ecological wool, but it is mechanically processed using a new, patented method. This process bypasses spinning and knitting of the wool, making SoftLine products an economical choice! Recommended for women with light to moderate milk-leakage.

Sizes

Mini 9 cm - 3 1/2 in.
X-Small 12 cm - 5 in.
Small 15 cm - 6 in.
Medium 18 cm - 7 in.
Large 22 cm - 9 in.
Oval (teardrop shaped) 18 x 27 cm - 7 x 11 in.

Many women are surprised by the larger size of the pads, compared to the familiar disposable or cotton pads. This is because the wool is intended to provide more benefits than simply absorbing milk. Scandinavians have, for centuries, felt that protecting your breasts from wind and cold can help prevent plugged ducts and mastitis.

GUIDELINE IN SIZING (with understanding that each woman may have individual preferences):

Mini - A cup (Size XS recommended over this, due to the added benefits of the wool)
X-Small - A or B cup
Small - B, C or D cup
Medium - DD or larger
Large and Oval - for women who want even more coverage (these are huger than most women expect, so please check measurements before ordering!)

Many women who choose size Large opt for the Oval shaped pads, which follow the shape of your breast and bra more closely. Choice depends upon where you want more coverage.

Oval - intended for women with repetitive plugged ducts in area of armpit.

To be certain the size you order is what you'd like, please note the measurements of each pad size and gauge against your breast/bra. Certain bra styles may work best with the smaller sizes. Shipping will be charged on exchange items.

For coughs & colds: Place nursing pad inside the shirt of your child directly against skin to help relieve cough, especially at nighttime.
For menstrual cramps: Place nursing pad directly against skin, covering your lower abdomen.
