More About Wool

For over 2000 years, man has used wool as protection against cold - and heat! As wool absorbs moisture, warmth is created. Yet wool breathes and therefore, holds a comfortable temperature.

Natural wool can absorb up to 40% of its own weight without feeling wet! Rain, snow, sweat, breastmilk, urine, baby's drool...! When it does begin to feel wet, the feeling is that of warmth, not cold and clammy. Plus wool's natural lanolin cleanses and neutralizes any odors!

LANACare wool is untreated, meaning it has not been exposed to any harsh chemicals as with bleaching or superwash treatment. It still contains its natural lanolin. As the wool absorbs moisture, the lanolin is converted to lanolin-soap, which has an antibacterial effect. The lanolin keeps the wool clean, fresh and hygienic.

Most people who believe they are allergic to wool, actually react to the chemicals used to extract the lanolin from the wool! Chemicals which are not used on LANACare wool.

Wool is naturally flame-retardant!
